Connecting Google Ads

Giving Adintel access through Google's own consent screen, adding a second login or manager account, and taking access away.

Reviewed 22 October 2026

How do I connect?

Choose Connect Google Ads, and Google's own consent screen opens. Sign in with the Google login you manage client accounts with, and allow access to Google Ads. Adintel then finds every Google Ads account that login can reach. Later, Connect at the foot of the side rail opens the Connect page, where Connect another Google login starts the same screen.

Why does Google's screen have a separate Google Ads box?

On Google's screen the Google Ads permission is its own checkbox. Leave it ticked. Without it Adintel cannot read your accounts, and the page says The Google Ads permission wasn't granted. Nothing is stored when that happens; connect again and keep the box ticked.

What access does Adintel get?

Read and write access to the Google Ads accounts the login reaches. Read, so it can sync and analyse them; write, so the changes you approve can be applied. Nothing is written to an account without your confirmation in Adintel, and every change is logged (changes you make from Adintel).

Adintel has completed Google's OAuth verification for the Google Ads permission it asks for. Access tokens are encrypted before they are stored.

What happens while Adintel looks for my accounts?

The page says Finding your Google Ads accounts. Please keep this page open. Adintel checks every account the login reaches, including every client account under a manager account apart from any hidden there, and what each spent over the last 30 days, so you can choose which to monitor. A login with many accounts can take a few minutes. Nothing is synced until you choose (choosing the accounts you monitor).

Can I add a second Google login or manager account?

Yes. On the Connect page, choose Connect another Google login. Every account the new login reaches joins the list for you to choose from. Connecting a login that is already listed does not add a second connection: it renews that login's access and looks for its accounts again, which is also how to pick up an account added under a manager account since you connected.

Is signing in to Adintel the same as connecting Google?

No. Signing in is how you reach Adintel; connecting a Google login is how Adintel reaches your Google Ads accounts. They can be different addresses. Signing out of Adintel disconnects nothing, and adding a Google login does not change how you sign in.

How do I take Adintel's access away?

Remove Adintel in your Google Account's third-party access settings. From then on Adintel cannot read or change the accounts that login reaches, and their data stops updating. To stop syncing one account and keep the rest, take it off your selection instead. When your access to Adintel ends and the 30 days after it pass, Adintel revokes its own access (when access ends).

What if connecting fails?

The page says what went wrong and offers Try again. The usual causes are cancelling on Google's screen, leaving the Google Ads box unticked, or leaving Google's screen open for more than ten minutes before finishing. Nothing is stored in any of these cases; start again and finish in one go. If it keeps failing, email support@adintel.io with what the page said.
