Timeline
Every change in an account, day by day, who made it, your notes, and the printable record of Adintel's changes.
Reviewed 24 October 2026
What does the Timeline show?
What happened in the account, day by day: every change and who made it (you, Adintel, other people, Google's auto-apply, Google itself, automated rules, scripts and other tools), and your notes. Each day's heading carries that day's spend, conversions and, where the account tracks value, conversion value and ROAS, so a change sits beside what the account did. What Adintel found that day without changing anything, such as departures from normal or your briefing's items, is folded into one line at the foot of the day; Show opens it.
How are the lines set out?
One line per day, per source and per kind of change, with the campaigns inside it, so a rule that changes hundreds of bids a day reads as one line. A budget, target, bid strategy or status change keeps its own line, in bold, with the old and new values, and so does a switch such as AI Max, networks, conversion settings or auto-apply. Routine changes by automated rules and scripts, changes Google reports without saying who made them, and a change Adintel made and undid within the hour are shown more faintly. A note has an accent edge; a day where what is counted changed, or Adintel corrected its copy of the data, is marked What's counted changed or Data corrected, because figures before and after it do not compare directly.
Under Did it work?, each change shows its verdict after 7, 14 and 30 days, the day it will be judged, or why it is not judged (did it work). In Made in Google Ads and Made by Adintel, changes judged as one, such as negatives added together, carry their verdict on the first of them in the list, and the rest point to it.
How do I find something?
Who narrows to one source of changes, and What to one kind: budgets and bidding, status, keywords and negatives, ads and assets, settings and products, tracking and data, notes, Adintel's findings, or did it work. The page reads 30 days at a time; Show the 30 days before reads further back, up to 13 months. The foot of the page says from which day Google's own change history is kept for the account; before that day, the timeline holds Adintel's own changes, notes and findings.
How do I add a note?
Choose Add a note at the top, on the Overview's chart, or on a briefing item. Give the day, the last day if the event ran longer, and what happened: a sale, an outage, or a price or feed change. Tick This changed what's counted as a conversion when tracking or conversion settings changed, and the timeline marks the day. Edit note under a note of yours changes or removes it.
What are the other two views?
Made in Google Ads is the last 90 days of Google's change history: each change, its old and new value, when and by whom. A budget or target Google's auto-apply changed, or a network it switched on, can be put back from here.
Made by Adintel is every change Adintel made that landed in the account over a period, with the reason for each, ready to share with a client. It opens on last month, in the account's time zone; Last month, This month, From and To choose another period, and the first line names the period, and the kind of change when you pick one in Show, so a printout says what it covers. A change made and undone within the period is left out with its undo, and so is one that sent nothing because the account was already that way; a line above the changes counts them, on screen only. An undo of a change made before the period says which day's change it undoes. Pausing auto-apply and dismissing Google's recommendations are not on it.
Can I share it with a client?
Yes. Print / Save PDF prints Made by Adintel as a report: the account and the period under the title, how many changes were made on how many days, then each day's changes with the time and the reason for each, and no change is split across two pages. Every page's footer names the account, the report, the period and the page number. The page's controls, the verdicts and the line counting what was left out are not printed.
