Conversions

Each conversion action and what it recorded, marking the real outcome, how a tracking break is caught, and changing an action's settings.

Reviewed 22 October 2026

What does the page show?

The account's conversion actions and what each recorded over the last 30 days whose conversions have come in, grouped the way Google counts them: Counted in Conversions, Primary, not counted, Secondary, and Hidden and removed. A hidden or removed action is listed only when it has recorded something or you have marked it. Tags say how each counts (Counts every or Counts one per click), whether Google measures it itself, and Flat value where it records the same value every time.

What do Real outcome, Soft and Not set mean?

They are yours to set, and they stay in Adintel; nothing is sent to Google.

  • Real outcome: what the business is paid for. Once at least one enabled action is marked real, the pause suggestions and the conversion anomalies judge on the real actions alone, including real actions that are secondary, such as imported offline sales.
  • Soft: a signal, not an outcome, such as a page view or a click. Never watched for tracking breaks, and not judged on once an action is marked real.
  • Not set: not marked yet. With no action marked real, Adintel reads Google's Conversions column, every counted action included.

The strip at the top says whether a real outcome is set, names the real actions, and says when a change takes effect: the anomalies from the next morning's analysis, the pause suggestions once the next sync has read the actions per keyword and ad.

What is a tracking break?

An action that has gone silent, or recorded far less than usual, while the campaigns it recorded on kept spending at least half their usual daily amount:

  • Silent: it recorded nothing for at least 3 days running where, in the 28 days before, it recorded on at least 15 of them. The more often it used to record, the sooner a silence counts. An action silent for 60 days or more is no longer reported as a break; the audit reports it as never recording.
  • Collapsed: over the last 7 days it recorded a quarter or less of what the 28 days before would predict, where that prediction is at least 14 conversions.

Only days old enough for their conversions to have come in are judged. Only enabled actions that are counted, primary or marked real are watched; Soft actions and the ones Google measures itself (store visits, local and map actions) never are. A break shows as Tracking break on its row and in a strip at the top, and reaches your briefing; the same break is then kept out of the briefing for 7 days.

How do I change an action's settings in Google Ads?

On an enabled action, choose Make it primary or Make it secondary, or switch how it counts. Each opens the usual confirm, one action at a time, with a warning naming the account's enabled campaigns that bid on conversions, because what their bidding optimises for changes from the next auction. A Google Analytics 4 action's counting is set in Google Analytics, so the page says so instead. The change Adintel made shows on its own line with Undo this change.
